Overview
Calf Pond Creek is located in SE Gainesville. The Calf Pond Creek Watershed is located in the southeast quadrant of Gainesville. It drains into a shallow pond named (predictably) Calf Pond (approximately 8.5 acres in area) that contains sinkholes draining into the Floridan aquifer from which the City of Gainesville obtains its drinking water supply.
The Calf Pond Creek Watershed is a hydrologically closed basin, meaning that surface water flows into the watershed but no surface flow leaves the watershed. The Calf Pond Creek basin encompasses nearly two square miles of residential and agricultural land.
